The Procedure

Hearing aids come in an array of styles and performance levels. As an independent hearing care provider, Gatwick Audiology team will help choose the right type of hearing solution for you depending on your hearing loss configuration and individual hearing needs.

Hearing Aid Assessment
Our audiologist will conduct a hearing aid assessment. This test is to determine how much amplification your hearing aid needs.

Choosing Your Hearing Aid
The audiologist will ask questions about your lifestyle and activities to understand the severity of your hearing loss and help you choose the right hearing aid. The audiologist will also help you figure out which hearing aids befits your budget, style and technology preferences.

Ear Impressions
The audiologist might take impressions of your ears as custom hearing aids and some behind-the-ear hearing aids require ear impressions.

Programming Hearing Aid
After ordering the hearing aids you will be offered a fitting appointment within a week or two. At the fitting appointment, our audiologist will need to program the aid to fit your hearing needs. Your hearing might sound strange initially but in a few appointments the hearing aids will work for you in all listening situations.

Learning to use your Hearing Aid
There may be a small learning curve when it comes to hearing aids. Our audiologist will thoroughly go through how to use and care for your hearing aids like changing batteries or recharging the aids if it’s a rechargeable solution and how to keep them clean all the time.
Most hearing aids work with either a remote control or an app on a smartphone for ease of changing programmes or volume on the hearing aids. Some of them come with the controls on the aids itself. Most of the hearing aids work with small batteries but there are many rechargeable types of hearing aid solutions as well.
Bluetooth devices like mobile phone, tablets, iPad etc can stream audio to your hearing aids, some hearing aids are sophisticated enough to directly connect to Bluetooth devices but some needs an intermediate device for Bluetooth streaming.

Aftercare Package for 3 years

As great as our hearing aids are, we can’t just fit them, and never see you again.

1st Follow Up

(1-4 week from fitting hearing aid)

We will need to adjust the hearing aids to your particular needs as you acclimatise to better hearing. It is our priority that you are happy with your hearing system. It is essential for us to measure how well you get on with your hearing in your own personal situations. So, after your fitting, we ask you to go out and try as many different situations and environments as you can. We will also need to adjust the settings again as you continue to acclimatise to better hearing following the first 4 weeks from fitting the hearing aids. If you are not satisfied with the hearing aids within this period you have the option to return for money back or try a different model if appropriate.

2nd Follow Up

(4-8 week from fitting)

By this point, your rehabilitation process is nearly finished. During this appointment, we will perform the final necessary adjustments and we will make sure you are getting the maximum benefit of your hearing system.

3-year aftercare appointments

(Unlimited)

FREE unlimited number of aftercare (including annual hearing tests, repair, fine tune etc) appointments can be booked with our audiologist during the first 3 years should you wish to come back for any further adjustments.

Batteries and consumables

Supply of batteries and any other hearing aid consumables are FREE of charge for the first 3 years. After this 3 year period you can purchase all your required batteries and consumables from us.

Annual Hearing test and finetune

We recommend that all our customers have an annual hearing test, check up on your aids, ear canals and fine tune of your hearing aids to ensure optimum benefit from the hearing aids.
