August 11, 2022Understanding the signs of hearing loss and supporting a loved one who is struggling with their hearing can be challenging in many ways. Often daily life and tasks and social activities can be affected.
We pride ourselves on our customer feedback and our personalised service approach to our patients which extends to the support of family members by offering resources and assisting with audiological care.
As part of our campaign to support the importance of addressing a hearing loss, we recently filmed Matt, who explains the impact being aided has had on his life at work and with family and friends.
Matt visited Gatwick Audiology for a hearing test, after his loved ones suggested his hearing had deteriorated significantly during the pandemic. After a hearing test, Matt was fitted with Signia Charge&Go AX hearing aids and discovered just how much he had been missing, (which mask wearing over the Covid 19 pandemic had highlighted).
Matt now has a newfound ‘zest for life’ and quotes that his Signia hearing aids have “changed his life for the better, and has realised the stigma he was afraid of for wearing them was worse with having a hearing loss”.
Spoiler Alert: Matt’s friends even started calling him ‘what Matt’ – a running joke he was unaware of, not only outlining the impact his loss had on his lifestyle…but that his hearing loss was far more obvious than wearing the discreet hearing aids themselves.
